Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 25mm to 29mm.

Flight Period: June until October in over lapping broods.

Habitat: They inhabit hedgerows, waste ground, coastal sand dunes where there is Privet and low growing plants.

Comment: This moth is fairly common in the southern half of England, Wales and the Midlands. They are localised in northern England and southern Ireland.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 24mm to 27mm.

Flight Period: June until August.

Habitat:  Moths inhabit damp meadows and marshes.

Comment: The moths of this species are uncommon residents, and widely distributed throughout England, Wales and Ireland.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 30mm to 34mm.

Flight Period: May

Habitat: Habits are wide and varied, and include parks gardens, waste ground, hedgerows, road side verges, and where ever there is an abundance of weeds.

Comment:  This moth is  fairly common, and widely distributed in the southern half of Britain. In the north, and Scotland is less common, and more localised.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 24mm to 27mm.

Flight Period: May and June, again in August and September.

Habitat: They inhabit marshy places such as bogs, fens, dykes, pool sides and other such damp localities.

Comment: Moths of this species fairly common, and are locally widespread residents, found in marshy places through out most of the British Isles.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 24mm to 27mm.

Flight Period: June into August in two broods.

Habitat: They inhabit open bushy area's with low growing herbaceous plants grow.

Comment: Moths of this species are fairly common residents, and are widely distributed through out the British Isles.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 34mm to 38mm.

Flight Period: July and August.

Habitat: Found on sand hills, waste ground, down land, roadside verges and embankments, and other grassy places.

Comment: This moth is  fairly common, throughout the British Isles. Melanic specimens are commoner in north England and Scotland.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 27mm to 31mm.

Flight Period: April to October in over lapping broods.

Habitat: Found just about any where brassicae and cruciferous plants grow.

Comment: This moth is a common in the UK, Melanic specimens are common in the northern isles, and Scotland. Similar forms (thules) are found in the Midlands, and London.
