Status: Resident in UK. Wing Span: 36mm to 42mm. Flight Period: February to April. Habitat: Habitats are bushy places with tree's and include, parks and gardens, commons, heath land, woods. Comment: This moth is widely distributed over the UK, and is fairly common. The adult moths are quite variable in colour. |

Comment: This moth is fairly common in the southern half of England, and most of Wales. It is scarcer northwards as far as Cumbria, and County Durham. |

Habitat: They inhabit coniferous and mixed wood land, and can be found in suburban parks, gardens, woods and hedgerows near Corsican, or Scot's Pine plantations. Comment: Moths of this species, are locally common residents over much of the British Isles. |
