Gooderstone Water Gardens:
Located six miles south west
of Swaffham, this water garden is an oasis of tranquillity. Very
serene and peaceful, the garden has a wide variety of butterflies,
dragonflies and damselflies. There are a selection of common garden
birds, some waterfowl and occasionally a Kingfisher pays a visit.
It all looks very natural, I
instantly felt at home in this place. There are many mature trees
surrounding the pools, including some absolutely fabulous Weeping
Willows. This is a great place for insect macro photography, I got
some nice pictures of dragon and damselflies and an odd butterfly.
It was excessively hot during
our two visits, not to worry as there are many sunny spots here,
there are as many shady places under the mature trees. If like us
you have problems like arthritis and sciatica, as well as asthma,
there are lots of benches at short and regular intervals to rest a
while. In fact we were that impressed, we went twice in the same
week.
