Lesser Celandine:

UK Status: Native, and resident to the British Isles.

Flowering Period: From late February some years, through to early May.

Appx Height: 5cm to 25cm. 

Habitat: This is a common plant in wooded area's, it seems to prefer to grow under well established tree's and hedgerows. It flowers in the spring when more sunlight can filter through the tree branches, before they come into full leaf. It is often found in wooded cemeteries, under hedgerows, suburban parks and gardens as well as woodland. This flower likes damp places, and is often found near the edges of wetlands.

Comment: This is a common and widespread throughout the British Isles. Often one of the first signs of spring, are when Lesser Celandine flowers.
