Yellow Water Lily: UK Status: Resident and native. Dimensions: Flowers are about 2cm to 4cm in diameter, with five or six sepals. Leaves are flat and reminiscently heart shaped, and lie flat on the surface of the pool. These flowers have a scent reminiscent to Brandy, combined with the shape, hence it's other name of the Brandy Bottle Flowering Period: May to July, depending upon seasonal conditions and where situated.. Habitat: This is a plant of pools, ponds and lake margins. Comment: Yellow Water Lily also known as The Brandy Bottle and Spadderdock.
