Common Dandelion:

UK Status: Native, and common resident to the British Isles.

Flowering Period: All the year around, but is most common in the spring, and early summer.

Appx Height: Up to 35cm, or even taller.

Habitat: This plant grows just about anywhere, and is tolerant of conditions ranging from full exposure to sun, ranging into fairly deep shade. It also likes many different soil types, and is found in gardens, parks, cracks between paving slabs, roadside verges, woodland glades and edges to name but a few.

Comment: In the British Isles the Common Dandelion is as it's name suggests, common and widely distributed. To be found in every nook and cranny, and although a garden weed, in the countryside a welcome, and heart warming splash of colour.
