Status: Tropical.

Wing Span: 100mm to 120mm.

Flight Period: All the year around.

Habitat: Sunny places where trees grow, such as forest edges, jungle clearings and rides.

Comment: Resident in Mexico and central South America. Owl moth is commonly used for about twenty other species of caligo butterflies.

Status: Tropical & Sub Tropical..

Wing Span: 125mm to 200mm.

Flight Period: All the year around.

Habitat: More open parts of tropical forests where the food plants grow. Sometimes in denser area's of forest, during mating.

Comment: Found in America, and is well distributed from central America into South America as far as Colombia.

Status: Tropical.

Wing Span: 56mm to 61mm.

Flight Period: All the year around.

Habitat: Swamps, parks, gardens, jungles, open wood land, hedgerows and other places where the food plants grow.

Comment: Common resident from Mexico to Panama, and is present in the West Indies and the Canary Isles.

Status: Tropical.

Wing Span: 95mm to 108mm.

Flight Period: All the year around.

Habitat: Forests  and Jungles.

Comment: This large butterfly is also known as The Paper Kite, and Rice Paper. It is distributed through South China, South Japan, Malaya, Java, Borneo, and the Philippines.

Status: Tropical.

Wing Span: 70mm to 75mm.

Flight Period: All the year around.

Habitat:  They are to be found in many habitat types though mainly wooded, or shrubby areas where the food plants grow.

Comment: Widespread throughout central and south America, as far south as Brazil. Poisonous to predators.

Status:  Tropical and Sub Tropical.

Wing Span: 85mm to 10mm.

Flight Period: All the year around.

Habitat: Variety of habitats, including parks, gardens, lowland, to mid elevation deciduous and rain forests.

Comment: Found throughout central and the northern half of South America. Ranges from the tip of south Mexico and Florida, as far south as Brazil.

Status:  Tropical.

Wing Span: 120mm to 140mm.

Flight Period: All the year around.

Habitat: They mainly inhabit forested area's.

Comment:  This species is native to the Philippines, but has been recorded in Taiwan.

Status: Tropical.

Habitat: They area's with palm tree's both inland and on the coast.

Comment: Common o south Asia and Indo China, includes countries like Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, India, the Lesser Sunda Islands.

Status: Tropical.

Wing Span: 260mm to 290mm.

Flight Period: All the year around.

Habitat: Forests and Jungles.

Comment: This species is widespread across south east Asia and throughout the Malay Archipelago. The Atlas is though to be the largest moth in the world.

Status: Tropical.

Wing Span: 113mm to 125mm.

Flight Period: All the year around.

Habitat: Plantations, forests and jungles.

Comment: Native to many parts Asia, and been introduced to other parts of the same continent, and also Europe. This species is used to produce silk material, but is not a domesticated.
