Clouded Leopard:

UK Status: Non resident, though found in zoos and wildlife parks.

Habitat: This big cat inhabits the foothills of the Himalayan range of mountains in Asia. It is found from north east India and Bhutan through and into southern China.

Breeding: These cats don't breed until aged just over two years, they usually mate between December and March. They copulate several times over the course of a few days, and cubs are born about three months later. There are one to five cubs per litter, three seems to be the most common amount.

Comment: These predatory animals are carnivores, and eat both smaller and larger animals that they stalk and hunt. Herbivorous animals are there most popular prey, though they are opportunists, and will eat smaller creatures, including birds.
